I came across this interesting bit of history(legend), and would like to share it with you all. 🙂
Its about an Indian princess named Heo Hwang-ok(or just Princess Heo to be short), an Ayodhyan princess to be precise, traveled all the way to Korea in 1st century CE, and married a Korean king called King Suro of Gaya. It seems she was the first queen of Geumgwan Gaya, a kingdom from the Three Kingdom Period of Korea.
All this is from a literature collection called the Samguk Yusa.Apparently, this queen is also claimed to be the ancestor of some famous families in today’s Korea.
